10 Days Rwenzori Trek, Wildlife & Gorillas starts at the Entebbe International Airport where you meet our driver guide who takes you through short briefing on the safari then later he shall transfer you to enjoy Wildlife watching, Gorilla Trekking and Rwenzori Hiking.

Detailed Itinerary of the 10 Days Rwenzori Trek, Wildlife & Gorillas

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe then to Hotel

You shall arrive at the Entebbe International Airport where you are welcomed by a driver guide who takes you through briefing about the 8 Days Gorillas & Rwenzori Trekking Tour. He shall then transfer you to check-in hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Protea Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Breakfast in the morning then transfer to the western part of Uganda in Kasese District at Queen Elizabeth National Park known to offer amazing Wildlife Safaris. You shall transfer for a period of 5 to 6 hours watching terrain vegetation, bird species as well as lunch break en-route. After a while, you shall reach the Park clear with all the necessary documentation then proceed to the Park where you enjoy a Game Drive en-route as you proceed to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 3: Game Drive & Boat Cruise along Kazinga Channel

Have breakfast then transfer to enjoy a Game Drive as you traverse from one track to another watching many wildlife animals like elephants, large buffalo herds, hippos, leopards, spotted hyenas, side-striped jackals, serval cats, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, giant forest hogs and topis. Take many photos to keep with you then at mid day break off for lunch then in the afternoon get to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise that offers you views of many wildlife animals, crocodiles, hippos beneath the waters. After the cruise, you shall return back to the shores then to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Bush Lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You shall have breakfast then to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located a few kilometers off the Park requiring you to transfer for 4 to 5 hours via the Ishasha Sector till you reach the Park.

Lunch is en-route as well as views of the green terrain vegetation, bird species. You shall then reach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you proceed to check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Buhoma Lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi Forest National Park

Breakfast in the early morning then proceed to the Park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the Gorillas. On reaching here, you are welcomed by a park ranger guide who takes you through short briefing about the National Park, Mountain Gorilla Groups, Gorilla Trekking Process and later shall allocate you into groups of 8 with lead park ranger guides who transfer you to enter the forest and trek the rare species of Mountain Gorillas.

Trek the Gorillas for a period of 3 to 5 hours depending on their current location and when you meet them stay in their presence taking many photos to keep. After trekking the Gorillas, return back to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Buhoma Lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Nyakalengija Base Camp to Nyabitaba Hut

Early morning breakfast then transfer to the Nyakalengija Base Camp for a period of 2 to 3 hours watching the green terrain, bird species. After a while driving, you shall reach the base camp and go through briefing on conduct as you hike the Mountain then embark on hike to the Nyabitaba hut.

You shall follow through dense vegetation forest terrain watching species like the black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys as you follow through towering trees forming a dense canopy, tangled vines and hanging moss listening to bird calls and insect sounds. The path steadily becomes steep, muddy covering an area of 5 to 6 hours covering about 7 kms via Narrow ridgelines with steep drop-offs, Slippery sections with exposed roots, Wooden bridges crossing fast-flowing streams and constant elevation gain.

You shall cross Rivers Mubuku and Mahoma viewing deep valleys below, having glimpses of distant peaks (on clear days). After hours of climbing, you shall arrive at Nyabitaba Hut where you have dinner and Overnight.

Day 7: Nyabitaba to John Matte Hut

Breakfast then embark on trek from Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut following through the wild, untamed terrain vegetation leaving behind the dense lower rainforest as you transition into bamboo zones, moss-covered valleys and the first true alpine landscapes of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Your hike follows through wetter and more dramatic technical terrain, ecological diversity and breathtaking scenery. You shall travers the Mubuku River, enter bamboo forest and alpine zone passing through boggy areas for a period of 6–7 hours. You shall descend sharply through forested slopes towards the confluence of two rivers i.e Mubuku River and Bujuku River.

Traverse the famous Kurt Shafer Bridge viewing dense bamboo forests dominating the lower slopes, Giant heathers and moss-draped trees, lichens and ferns covering nearly every surface, giant heather trees covered in moss. After a while, you shall reach the John Matte Hut where you rest, have Dinner and Overnight.

Day 8: John Matte to Bujuku Valley (Bujuku Hut)

Breakfast then embark on hike traversing the Bigo Bog region from John Matte Hut to Bujuku Hut following through vast bogs, giant alien-like plants and dramatic mountain backdrops.

You shall follow through thick vegetation, ridges, cold, misty, Quiet terrain as you approach the Afro-Alpine Zone watching the
Giant lobelias towering overhead, Groundsel plants (Senecio) with thick, water-storing trunks, moss-covered ground that feels soft and sponge-like.

Proceed through the bigo bog section via the boardwalks. The hike is slippery as you step in the muddy sections for a period of 5 to 6 hours covering a distance of 4 to 5 kms. You shall then reach the stunning bujuku valley where you view Lake Bujuku then later reach Bujuku Hut for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 9: Descend to Nyabitaba Hut

Breakfast then transfer on descent to the Nyabitaba Hut through the dramatic Bujuku Valley surrounded by towering peaks i.e Mount Stanley, Mount Speke,
Mount Baker.

You shall follow through cold, misty, quiet terrain vegetation for a period of 6 to 8 hours leaving behind the bog as you gradually descend through the afro-alpine zone into the heather region. Watch the clouds drifting through the valley. You shall then reach the Nyabitaba Hut where you briefly relax then proceed to Nyakalengija. On reaching here, you shall congratulate each other then get in the 4×4 vehicle to transfer you to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Equator Snow Lodge.

Day 10: Departure to Kampala or Entebbe Airport

Leisure breakfast then embark on transfer to Kampala or the Entebbe Airport to board your flight back home after the safari. Enjoy stunning views of the green terrain, bird species as well as lunch. After reaching the Airport, board a flight back home.
